Children’s Program
What children and youth need most is our time, attention and care – the greatest gifts.
We run a formal Sunday Children’s Program during the school year. During the summer services, c
rafts, games and individual activities are provided.
Children join us for 10:00 am worship on Sunday in the Sanctuary for the opening of the service. They are welcome to play, colour and read at the small table in the Narthex, or sit in the pews with their family. For Children’s Time with Wendelin, they can come to the front of the sanctuary.
Once we move to the Sunday Children’s Program room, we open our sacred time with a candle and a prayer. We orient the learning around a Bible story and do crafts or activity sheets. Questions are always welcome. Sometimes we do songs, often in ASL (American Sign Language). Some of our kids are in French Immersion, so we often discuss French vocabulary. Our talented young people make drawings, mobiles, timelines and other structures. If some have a difficult time sitting still or concentrating, we have room to move and play.
As part of Trinity’s focus on Reconciliation, we discuss Indigenous culture and current issues, in our aim to be ecumenical.
Now that the restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic have been lifted, for September 2022, we are once again planning monthly Sports & Games Nights. Check our Trinity Facebook page or weekly announcements for news of PD Day Camps, Christmas Break Camp, and March Break Camp.
Feel free to call the office at 519-824-4800, or send an email to info@trinityunitedguelph.ca for registration forms or to set up a time to speak to Wendelin, our Children & Youth Program Coordinator, about any of our programs.
