What children and youth need most is our time, attention and care – the greatest gifts.
Our new Fall Children’s Program, Seasons of the Spirit, for nursery age to teens started September 9th. Children join us for 10:00 am worship and then head to their program at 10:15 am.
Seasons of the Spirit Curriculum: Each week, we open with a candle, the ringing of bells, and a prayer to signify that we are in a sacred space. We take a look at a passage from the Bible.
Songs & Crafts: We will be working on a song each time we meet! We do a hands-on activity or craft each week, something that is a reminder of what was learned from the Bible story. Our talented young people have made drawings, rainsticks and mobiles, and are working on a bingo card of thanks.
Future Activities: We are conscious of all the ages in our congregation, and the needs of each age group, along with family events. We are exploring the possibility of Youth Nights, PA Day Camps, and March Break Camp.
OUR FOCUS IN THE WEEKS AHEAD:
The ADVENT SEASON is about waiting, longing, promise and preparation. We remember all God has done for us, and what God could do in our broken world. This is a time to go looking beyond the material world of gifts and consumerism, into the story of true giving.
The CHRISTMAS SEASON begins with a song of love for the universe. We have all heard the Christmas Story – what are new learnings we can have for this special time of year?
In the SEASON AFTER EPIPHANY, we open ourselves to new insights, understanding and new ways of being. The stories in these seasons are about strong relationships and strong Bible characters, bold words and deep trust, and justice for all. Our discussions will help us to find out what it means to be one of God’s children, and part of our church family.
The Children’s and Baby Nursery welcomes children 3 years old and under, in our Nursery. Cora Bent staffs our nursery. Volunteers are always welcome to help.
Registration forms are available from the brochure racks or from our Children & Youth Program Co-ordinator, Wendelin. For more information please call the church office at 519-824-4800, or send email to firstname.lastname@example.org
