This Wednesday, Trinity United Church becomes the new home of the North End Harvest Market.
The church at 400 Stevenson St. N. welcomes the organization starting Sept. 11, said market manager Barb McPhee.
“We found a home!” said McPhee.
She said she is thrilled to have a new location so people can once again visit and select from the fresh produce. The market vacated the portable at Waverley Drive Public School after the Aug. 14 market, because it was needed as a classroom for the school year.
“The hours will still be the same, 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. (on Wednesdays), and it will be choicebased, so no more just handing out bags,” McPhee said.
There is ample parking available, and folks should head to the back door of the gym, she said. There will be signs to direct people to the market.

She said thanks go out to the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition and Trinity United Church for the contract that will see the market through until the end of the year. She hopes they will be able to extend it into next year as well.
She said this partnership will be beneficial to everyone in the community, because so many events and opportunities happen through the church.
“That’s what community looks like,” said McPhee. “They’re just amazing people that work there, or that volunteer or go there.”
The church is also home to Anishnabeg Outreach, Centre for Indigenous Healing. The centre helps support and build community for First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
McPhee said Community FEWD will be there the second and third Wednesdays of each month with a hot meal from 5 to 6 p.m. Donations are accepted, and they ask that you bring along your own containers if possible.

She said this week is blue week at the market, for folks that have a blue registration card. New registrants will be taken in October.
