Stratford Festival Free On-line

The Stratford Festival is making its Stratford Festival on Film series available free on its website. Each play will debut with a 7 p.m. viewing party. Twelve Shakespeare productions are being offered starting Thursday April 23 - William Shakespeare’s birthday - with “King Lear,” which Shakespeare wrote in 1606, supposedly while in quarantine during a plague. It will stream Thursday to May 17.

The other plays in the series, all available for three week periods, include

  • “Coriolanus” (April 30),
  • “Macbeth” (May 7),
  • “The Tempest” (May 14),
  • “Timon of Athens” (May 21);
  • “Love’s Labour’s Lost” (May 28);
  • “Hamlet” (June 4),
  • “King John” (June 11);
  • “Pericles” (June 18),
  • “Antony and Cleopatra” (June 25),
  • “Romeo and Juliet” (July 2) and
  • “The Taming of the Shrew” (July 9).
