Prayer Shawls, Prayer Squares and crosses are made as a spiritual practice and given away both to celebrate special life events and to offer comfort to those in need. Prayer squares are specially sized to accompany people to doctor’s appointments and procedures. Knitters and crocheters are often found at the church during Wednesday morning coffee or on Thursdays during the Chalmers Cafe. Supplies of needles, hooks, looms and yarn are available at the church. Experienced knitters are ready to help novices. Only God is perfect so we regard any imperfections made in the prayer shawl as signs of the personal touch and love and care that went in to the making of the shawl.
