Biographies

Bill Vu
12 year old Bill Vu was born in Laval, Quebec.  Bill started learning the piano after being discovered by world renowned pianist Dang Thai Son at the age of 5.  He previously studied with Richard Raymond at Montreal Conservatory of Music and is now a scholarship student at the Phil and Eli Taylor Academy Performance for Young Artists, in the studio of Dr. Michael Berkovsky.
 
Bill is the winner and scholarship recipient at many music festivals and competitions.  Among them are: First Prize winner, 2017 Canadian Music Competition National Finals (9yrs and under).  First Prize at OMFA Provincial (elementary concerto), Montreal Classical Musical Festival, Quebec Music Educator Association Festival, the Canadian Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra Young Artist Competition, CCC Music Competition and Festival, Guelph Kiwanis Music Festival, KW Kiwanis Music Festival, Stratford Kiwanis Festival for Performing Arts, and more.

Bill made his orchestral debut at the age of 10 with the Canadian Sinfonietta Orchestra, at the CBC Glenn Gould’s Studio.  He also performed with the CAST Youth Orchestra and the Kitchener Waterloo Community Orchestra.  In Sept 2019, Bill was featured as guest performer at the Canadian edition of the George Enescu Festival.  

Bill’s favourite thing to do is playing video games, basketball and fools around with his brothers.  

Anthony Vu

10 year old Anthony Vu was born in Laval, Quebec.  He started learning the piano when he was seven and a half and is now a scholarship student at the  Phil and Eli Taylor Academy Performance for young Artists.  His teacher is Dr. Michael Berkovsky.  Anthony is also being mentored by world renowned pianist Dang Thai Son, just like his 2 other pianist brothers.  

Anthony often been awarded scholarships and placed in the top rankings from the local and provincial music festivals.  Some of them are: Guelph KM Festival, Kitchener Waterloo Kiwanis Music festival, Stratford Kiwanis of the Performing Arts, the Chinese Culture Centre Music, festival and the OMFA provincial.  In August 2019,  Anthony was invited to perform at the “Portraits: Words and Music”, a concert that was organized by the Canadian Chopin Society during the Canadian Chopin Competition and Festival.  Anthony and his brothers also often give performances at the Senior homes in Woodbridge and KW regions.  

In his free time, Anthony enjoy swimming, basketball and playing a lot of video games with his 3 brothers.
