Theatre Club will begin September 25, 2018, at 7:15 p.m., breaking for Christmas Holidays on December 11, 2018, and continuing our winter session on January 8, 2019. We offer an original script, and produce a Show to be performed before friends, family and the general public. We do sell tickets to our Performance in March at a modest price ($10 adult; children 16 and under are free). Our performers will learn a wide range of theatrical and public performance skills throughout the course of our Program, and, we guarantee lots of fun!!!
We offer fall & winter sessions, leading to an original Performance booked for Friday evening, March 1, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. Our Performance will have a role for everyone and feature musical numbers and our guest band.
Our CHILDREN’S CHOIR is led by Andrea LeBlanc. Andrea is the Music Director at Trinity United Church, and is an award-winning teacher of piano and voice to both children and adults. She is assisted by Barbara Moldenhauer. Every effort is taken to choose music children love to sing. Maybe modern, maybe not – maybe something from the movies, something with an environmental edge, and always with lots of love. Our fall session will be focusing on music for the Christmas Season.
Our Fall Session will begin with practices on Sunday mornings at 11:30: October 14, 21, 28, November 4, 11, 18, 25, December 2. We will sing as Special Guests at Trinity’s Family Christmas Service on Sunday morning, December 9, at 10:00 a.m. Also, that same day, our Children’s Choir will join the Trinity Senior Choir in their annual Christmas Performance in the evening at 7:00, December 9, 2018. All practices will take place in the church sanctuary at Trinity United Church, 400 Stevenson St. N., and will last 30 to 40 minutes. All boys and girls in our community are invited to be a part of our choir.
Guelph United Performers – Community Theatre Camp will be back again next year, July 8 to 12 and July 22 to 26, 2019.
Our Camp Program consists of preparing for our Show – making props – making costumes – and performing at the end of the week. Our campers learn acting skills; voice projection; singing; stage props; costumes; movement; diction; dynamics; confidence. There are improv games and lots of fun!!! We do expect our campers to have an interest in Theatre, and, to be in attendance at camp every day. To assist with our costs, there is a nominal weekly fee.
